3garlic clovesminced
1/2cupvegetable or chicken broth
8ozcream cheeseroom temp
1/2cupgrated parmesan
1cupshredded mozzarella/asiago mix
1tspItalian seasoning
Salt & pepper
Red pepper flakesoptional
Fresh parsleyfor garnish
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a medium baking dish. This helps avoid sticking and adds to the crisp factor later on.
Blanch the asparagus in boiling water for 2 minutes, then transfer to an ice bath. This keeps them vibrant and prevents mushiness after baking.
In a skillet, sauté sliced onions with a drizzle of olive oil until soft. Add garlic, cook 1 more minute, then stir in broth and cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
Stir in Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and half the parmesan. Fold in the asparagus gently so it’s coated but not broken. Add chili flakes if you want a bit of heat.
Pour the mixture into your baking dish, top with shredded cheese and remaining parmesan. Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes until golden and bubbly.
Broil for 2–3 minutes at the end to crisp up the top. Let it cool for 5 minutes. Garnish with parsley and serve warm!
