½cupgreen peas
1tablespoonolive oil
1tablespoonminced garlic
1tablespoonminced shallot
1 ¾cupsheavy whipping cream
Salt and freshly ground black pepperto taste
Instructions
Cook the pasta. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the fettuccine until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving ½ cup of pasta water in case the sauce needs thinning.
Sauté the aromatics. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and shallots, stirring frequently until fragrant and softened, about 1-2 minutes.
Add the turkey and peas. Toss in the smoked turkey strips and green peas, cooking for another 2 minutes until heated through. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking.
Pour in the cream. Lower the heat and add the heavy whipping cream, stirring to combine. Let it simmer gently for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
Combine with pasta. Add the cooked fettuccine to the sauce, tossing gently to coat. If the sauce is too thick, mix in a bit of the reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency.
Serve immediately. Plate the pasta while hot, garnishing with freshly grated Parmesan or chopped fresh herbs for extra flavor. Enjoy!
