Ingredients

For the Pide Dough

  • 300 g 00 Flour
  • 1 tsp Dried Yeast
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • ½ tsp Honey
  • 240 ml Warm Water
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • Handful Mozzarella optional

For the Spicy Lamb Mince

  • 400 g Lamb Mince
  • 1 Onion finely diced
  • 1 Red Pepper finely diced
  • 2 Tomatoes chopped
  • 1 tsp Cumin Powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander Powder
  • ½ tsp Turmeric
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix flour, yeast, and salt. Dissolve honey in warm water and gradually add it to the flour mixture. Knead the dough for 10 minutes until smooth. Add olive oil and knead for another 5 minutes. Cover and let it rise for 1 hour.
  • Heat olive oil in a pan. Sauté onions and red pepper until soft. Add lamb mince, breaking it up as it cooks. Stir in tomatoes and spices. Cook for 10 minutes until the mixture is thick.
  • Preheat the oven to 220°C. Roll out the dough into oval shapes. Spread the lamb mixture evenly, leaving edges free. Fold the edges to create a boat shape.
  • Place on a baking tray and bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown. If using mozzarella, sprinkle before baking. Serve warm and enjoy!
