Preheat your grill or stovetop grill pan to medium-high heat.
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine all the ingredients evenly.
Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, slightly larger than the size of your hamburger buns.
Place the hamburger patties on the preheated grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. If you prefer, you can also cook the patties in a skillet on the stovetop.
While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the bread on the grill or in a toaster. Once the patties are cooked, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty and allow it to melt slightly.
Assemble the hamburger toasts by placing a lettuce leaf and a tomato slice on the bottom half of each slice of toast toast. Add the cooked hamburger patty.
Garnish with raw onion rings, olives, radish or slices of apples.
Serve the hamburger toasts with ketchup and mustard on the side.
