Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked chickpeas canned or soaked and cooked
  • 1 cup frozen green peas thawed
  • 1/4 cup tahini sesame paste
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Water if needed for desired consistency

Instructions

  • In a food processor, combine the cooked chickpeas, thawed green peas, tahini, lemon juice, minced garlic, olive oil, ground cumin, salt, and pepper.
  • Blend the ingredients until smooth and well combined. If the mixture seems too thick, you can add a little water (1 tablespoon at a time) until you achieve the desired consistency.
  • Taste the hummus and adjust the seasonings according to your preference. You can add more lemon juice, garlic, or salt as needed.
  • Once the hummus is smooth and creamy, transfer it to a serving bowl.
  • Garnish the hummus with a drizzle of olive oil, a sprinkle of ground cumin, and a few whole peas on top for a pop of color.
  • Serve the hummus with pita bread, fresh veggies, or your favorite dipping snacks.
