Ingredients

  • 4 slices of thick bread
  • 2 large tomatoes sliced
  • 200 g mozzarella cheese sliced
  • 100 g ham thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves optional

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven: Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) and allow it to preheat while you prepare the ingredients.
  • Prepare the bread: Place the slices of bread on a baking sheet. Brush each slice with olive oil on both sides to ensure a golden, crispy texture.
  • Assemble ingredients. Place the thinly sliced ham on the toasts. Cut the tomatoes into thin slices. Lay the tomato slices evenly over the bread, covering as much surface area as possible.
  • Add the mozzarella: Place slices or shreds of fresh mozzarella on top of the tomatoes. Distribute the cheese evenly to ensure each bite is flavorful.
  • Season the toasts: Sprinkle the dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper over the tomatoes and mozzarella. These herbs and spices will enhance the overall flavor.
  • Bake the toasts: Put the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the bread edges are golden brown.
  • Garnish and serve: Remove the pizza toasts from the oven and let them cool for a minute. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired, and serve warm.
